ANNOUNCEMENT!

We have made our move and bought our house... the problem now is, I WORK LIKE A MAD WOMAN! Which isn't really a problem at all, because in truth, I LOVE my job :) So, if I'm not here, it's because I'm working my butt off... and loving every moment of it!

Wisdom-less

I survived. Sort of.

Actually, I'm doing pretty good. My face isn't nearly as giant as it was yesterday.

Apparently, most everyone I know was put under to have their wisdom teeth taken out... but oh! Not me! I was wiiiiiiide awake.  And crying.

My sweet little asian lady dentist... bless her heart... but she is NOT gentle with that giant needle of numbness.
Nor was she very gentle when she had to rest her forearm across my forehead for leverage while she was yanking my teeth out.

The top two came out alright... but the bottom two were impacted and thought they wanted to stay.

My sweet dentist --out of breath from pulling-- had to call in the cavalry. "Can I get an extra set of hands in room 4 please?" (over the INTERCOM!) Yes. She needed an extra set of hands to HOLD MY HEAD DOWN!!!

Thank GOD for those painfully awful shots of numbness.... I can't IMAGINE this situation without them!!

So with one lady holding my head down (with BOTH HANDS and her entire BODY as leverage), another doing the suction (for the truly massive amount of blood in my mouth) and my sweet little dentist yanking, they finally got my last tooth out.

I drearily (is that a word?) walked out to the car where my sweet hubs was waiting for me and we drove over to the Walgreens for my pain medication... then home where we sat on the couch and I iced my cheeks and he watched 24.

FYI: applesauce doesn't taste very good with blood.

Actually, blood just doesn't taste good at all. I will not be joining the vampire kids any time soon. Yuck!

Despite the fact that I was a total baby and had tears rolling down my face the whole time, it's over with! (well, kinda. I have to go back next week to have my stitches taken out...) And yes, it was actually WORSE than I imagined it would have been... but hey! It's a good story right?! ...if only I could TALK to tell it!!!

[092] have my wisdom teeth pulled (just generally scared!)

  1. Awww. I really think it's the dentist that takes them out that makes the experience what it is. I was terrified (and still am) of the dentist and having mine pulled. My new dentist here was amazing though and it wasn't anything like I thought. I am glad you got it checked off your list and they are out. I hope the healing process is smooth for you.

  2. YIKES! I don't think I could have handled being awake for that. They put me under general anesthesia for mine! I hope you stay relatively unpuffy! ;)

  3. Oh my goodness I would have been the same way! Why didn't they put you under?? I am so hoping I will not have to have my wisdom teeth out. I was told I didn't have any at my last x-ray!

  5. Well, hearing all these stories, I kinda feel bad that my hubby has to get his pulled soon, but it also makes me grateful to be in the very small ranks of those who don't have any at all.

I hope you feel better really soon!

  6. I was completely knocked out when they did mine! Thank goodness because I cried as they were putting the IV in! It was heavenly! I think the oral surgeon would have had to have pulled them anyway because a couple of them were impacted and one was sideways!

  7. Thats sounds horrid. My mom swears by green tea bags, instead of that nasty gauze they give you, when she had hers pulled. I still have mine, and honestly, I think I'll keep them.

  10. Glad you made it. Those shots are dreadful! The one in the roof of my mouth almost makes me pass out everytime. I have no idea how I'm ever going to give birth!

  13. "Thanks so much for featuring me here! And I LOVE that surprise video! Every time I watch I end up crying, but it is SO cute and makes me so happy! :)"

No problem it was a great post! :)
Yeah I know, I always cry too, it is just so sweet! By the way I noticed you are stationed in GA so are we, but we are several hours from Ft. Benning I am at Robins Air Force base. But I thought it was cool we were both in GA! ;)
